Welcome runners to the
Friendly Massey Marathon website.
The 2011 race was a great success thanks to the runners, volunteers and sponsors. Check out the results on the website. I would like to thank Patricia Drohan for all the great pictures on the FACEBOOK page (massey marathon weekend).
Congratulations to Jeffrey Paul for the breaking the Chutes 10k record with a time of 35:09:0. The youngest runner for the Chutes 10k was Lakota Rongits (6) of Elliot Lake, ON and the oldest runners was Armande Pieschke (73) from Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
Spanish River Half Marathon award winners: Luigi Carlesso (74) from Toronto, ON won the Philip Scheid award for the oldest runner and Steven Rongits (8) from Elliot Lake, ON won the youngest runner award.
Friendly Massey Marathon award winners: Boyce Connor (17) from Naughton, ON won the youngest runner award and Rosaire Gagne (70) from Montreal, PQ won the oldest runner award.
Our race committee is busy preparing for the 36th Friendly Massey Marathon, 23rd Spanish River Half Marathon and 5th Chutes 10K to be held July 15, 2012 in small , friendly community of Massey. The marathon is an accredited race through the Ontario Road Runners Association and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The timing is provided by Sportstats Championchip.
The marathon weekend is open to the first 500 entries. Enter early! Come join us in 2012 and find out why our race is called the Friendly Massey Marathon.
